Learning and Performance Objectives for DEFT Courses:

Measurements and Fasteners is one course offered in the DEFT series. Upon Completion, the student will have an appreciation of the technical topics covered and have the skill to report on the tasks. Students will learn the common NDE processes and practice application of the PT process and hardness testing. Use of precision measuring tools will be presented and each student will be able to use the tools to measure and report on the condition of a sample of rig equipment such as a BOP.

Schematics is another course offered in the DEFT series. When a student has completed this course, they will have an appreciation of the technical topics covered and have the skill to read and understand drawings and schematics. Students will learn to use schematics and drawings to diagnose and rectify equipment faults. Each student will be expected to create a simple schematic prior to completion of the course.
